What is an iAd? An iAd is an innovative advertisement that combines video, audio and interactive web content in a format available on iPhone and iPod Touch. The Family Dish iAd is located within applications that moms frequent under several different genres. It appears as a banner ad that the consumer can click on and view / interact with, without ever leaving the application.

What’s so special about The Family Dish iAd?
The Family Dish iAd is the first iAd created and targeted specifically to moms and the first iAd supported by multiple brands as part of The Family Dish program.

The Family Dish iAd uses mobile media channels to connect and engage people in the hands-on activity of cooking together through innovative features like, audio podcasts. The Family Dish podcasts feature up-and-coming musical artists, their favorite recipes, and a playlist by the artist. When a user selects podcasts from the main menu, there is a short audio introduction by each artist which will prompt the consumers to download the full audio podcast.

The full Family Dish podcasts feature the artists walking the consumer through the steps of their recipe featuring four songs by the artists woven throughout the podcast. The full Family Dish podcast can be downloaded for FREE online at www.thefamilydish.com or on iTunes (The Family Dish Podcasts).

Another exciting feature of The Family Dish iAd is “Shelf Help,” a virtual pantry that features The Family Dish supporting brands, such as Ragu Pasta Sauce, as well as common household staples. The user can select an item and see corresponding recipes from the Unilever Consumer Test Kitchens.

The content in the iAd reinforces The Family Dish program and, as always, aims to drive consumers to The Family Dish website. The iAd will run for two months.

Lipton Onion Burgers Recipe :

Makes 8 servings

Prep Time – 10 minutes

Cook Time – 12 minutes

Ingredients:

1 envelope of Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix

2 pounds of lean ground beef

1/2 cup of water

1. combine all ingredients in a large bowl, shape into 8 patties

2. Grill or Broil until done

Alternate choices : Lipton Recipe Secrets Beefy Onion, Onion Mushroom, or Savory Herb with Garlic Soup Mix.

I have some extremely exciting news that I am finally able to share with everyone. I was asked by Unilever (you know the company who has awesome brands such as Ragu, Lipton, Breyers, Skippy, Knorr, and more?) to be a contributor to a new website that they have called “The Family Dish”. The Family Dish is a site geared to having fun in the kitchen with great recipes, and also getting your children involved. The mission is to reconnect families through cooking.

I can remember watching shows on television where families are cooking meals together, talking, and having a great time. Not only does this make for a fantastic family time, but also, your children can learn to cook and learn all of those secret family recipes.

As it is a family usually doesn’t have much time to spend together why with moms and dads working, kids in sports and activities. Homework, housework, and yard work that just doesn’t leave a lot of time. I have always been a stickler that we (my family) eats dinner together every night. That way at least we have that 1/2 to an hour to talk, and know whats going on in each of our worlds. Now with working on this project with “The Family Dish” I can make the time last a little longer with them helping me to cook before the dinner as well.

I plan on rotating my crew of 4 kids and spending some individual time with each of them in the kitchen. On some days I will also work with them on a meal as one group as well.
