Introducing~Cascadian Farm’s Newest FarmVille Initiative & WIN!

Cascadian Farm®, a pioneer in the organic food industry, is blazing yet another new trail as they become the first official branded – and organic – crop to be offered in Zynga´s popular online game, FarmVille. Joining forces, Cascadian Farm and Zynga will provide an innovative gaming experience for FarmVille fans, breathing virtual life into real world organic farming within the largest online agricultural space.

Beginning July 19 through July 26, Cascadian Farm will provide FarmVille players with a variety of benefits including, coupon offers, organic farming and green living tips, as well as the opportunity to build up their farm quickly. During the week-long partnership, branded Cascadian Farm organic blueberry crops will be the most profitable FarmVille crop offered in the game, to beginner and expert FarmVille players.

The brand has also recreated the real Cascadian Farm, located in the Upper Skagit Valley of Washington’s North Cascade Mountains. The virtual Cascadian Farm will carry out the brand´s mission to grow good and honest food by encouraging FarmVille users to harvest crops that are free from synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. All of their online fruits and vegetables will be planted with the same ideals and values found in organic culture, while also sharing the rewards from playing the game with Cascadian Farm´s online fan base.

To further connect with other FarmVille users, Cascadian Farm has created an avatar farmer called “Farmer Joe Cascadian,” who was inspired by the brand´s real-life farmers. “Farmer Joe” will serve as the “virtual” tender to the brand´s own FarmVille farm and users can request to be his neighbor by “friend-ing” him online at www.facebook.com/farmerjoecascadian and by using the FarmVille application to become his neighbor in-game.

Scene It? Trivia Game Comes To Facebook

Scene It?, the number one DVD trivia game worldwide, is now available for play in beta on Facebook!  As you know, players start by creating a “Hollywood hopeful”, a customizable avatar, and then start playing movie-themed trivia and puzzles.  A  new quiz is addedeach day, all featuring licensed content from movie studios, giving players a great reason to come back 365 days a year.  As players earn “glitz points” and level up, they have the ability to purchase amazing clothing, houses, pets, jewelry etc. for their super stylish avatar.

What’s also new, is that they just started our second monthly Tournament, where users play one themed quiz per week (FB connections make up their team).  They can invite friends to join in, and points get combined into an overall team score.  Prizes include a MacBook pro, iPod and Scene It? board games, making it fun, competitive and compelling.

The expansion from strictly a retail box game to the world of online has been an interesting one.  They can be much more nimble with updating the content, customizing quizzes, allowing user-generated-content and predictions and creating a different look & feel for the game than we do with the  box editions.  They have  been growing the Facebook game organically, tapping into movie buffs, Scene It? fans, and the generally huge Facebook community, but it’s new territory for them.  Play a couple quizzes, feel free to blog or Tweet about it, and definitely let them know what you think! www.facebook.com/sceneitonline

Zhu Zhu Pets for Nintendo DS – Coming Soon!!!

If your children are as into the Zhu Zhu craze as mine are then they will be so excited to learn that the Zhu Zhu Pets game for the Nintendo DS will be coming out SOON. This Spring as a matter of fact, and we will be holding a review and giveaway for at least 1 copy right here on this blog, so you won’t want to miss it!

Activision Publishing (Nasdaq: ATVI) and GameMill Publishing, Inc. announced an agreement with Cepia, LLC to develop and publish video games based on the smash hit Zhu Zhu Pets™. The first Zhu Zhu Pets™ game will be released on the Nintendo DS™ system in the spring of 2010.

Zhu Zhu Pets™ success in 2009 speaks for itself and we’re confident it will be even bigger in 2010,” said David Oxford at Activision Publishing. Gary Miller, President, GameMill Publishing, stated, “It is our goal to expand this proven franchise in a way that fans of the wildly popular hamster toy line and video gamers alike will embrace and love to play.”

A genuine craze in the toy aisle, Zhu Zhu Pets™ was recently nominated for two top industry awards including: “Girl Toy of the Year” and “Innovative Toy of the Year.” It is expected to be one of the top selling toys of the 2009 holiday season.
