Someone special is having a birthday on Aug. 25th, it is Rachael Ray!
Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine editors are asking their baking savvy readers and all Rachael fans at large to help them celebrate her birthday by making Rachael a birthday cake. And I was asked to help in her Birthday Celebration!

And, if you want in on the celebration? The Magazine asks that bakers make a homemade treat from the pages of the August issue that is on stands now. They can choose from any of the four birthday cakes on pages 31-32 or select any ingredient found in this issue and use it in their own cake recipe.

I couldn’t pass up the chance to celebrate with one of my favorite gals on TV. Here is a Video my kids and I made to help Rachael Celebrate!

By the way, our cones were Carrot Cake Cones, and we purposefully left off all of the “ice cream topping” so we could write Happy Birthday on them. This was a very fun project, and we loved working together to make the cone cakes.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment released the film AVATAR on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on Earth Day. AVATAR grossed over $2.6 billion dollars theatrically worldwide, making it the biggest film of all time.  Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has teamed up with the Earth Day Network to plant 1,000,000 trees worldwide in celebration of the BD and DVD release of the film.  People who purchase the film will be given a unique access code that allows them to go online and actually adopt one of the million trees being planted, charting its location and progress.

Party Like the Na’vi

We decided to do an Avatar Birthday Theme birthday for my son’s 11th birthday. The following is a Whrrl of the party we had back in April. It was a lot of fun. The kids really enjoyed it.
