Mirra Beauty Products Review and Giveaway*
What do women want? According to recent survey results, women believe beauty products made with both natural ingredients and proven scientific technologies work best – and that’s what new beauty brand, mirra™ provides.
In addition to its own consumer research, mirra recently conducted an online survey of over 500 women asking a variety of questions about beauty care products and regimens. Here’s what women said:
· 77 percent said products that have both natural ingredients and proven technologies, work best. Only nine percent said products with all natural ingredients, alone, were best; and 14 percent said the same of science only products.
· 71 percent chose “Take 10” as the best description of their beauty style and routine. They said they don’t have a lot of time and don’t spend a lot of time on their beauty routine – 10 minutes at most. Other options included “soak and savor,” “60 minutes,” and “beat the clock.”
· Their description of a “bad hair day” was evenly split between “flat” (37 percent) and “frizzy” (35 percent). (15 percent said fly-away; 13 percent said oily).
Launching now, mirra products include shampoos and conditioners; hair styling products; body washes and mists; facial and skin care lotions, cleansers and cleansing cloths; eye firming and age defying creams; and cosmetic brushes.
mirra products are made with natural ingredients, such as olive oil, aloe leaf juice, and cranberry, bamboo, honey and chicory root extracts. Proven technologies are used for many of the products too. For example, the revolutionary oleosome emulsion technology is used in skin care products to deliver long lasting moisture that keeps protecting and nourishing skin long after application.
mirra products can be found in the beauty care aisles exclusively at all stores that are part of the Kroger Co. family. For a limited time, mirra is offering $5 off when you purchase any two mirra products. To download the coupon visit www.kroger.com\coupons.
Why mirra
“Women tell us they want products that enhance who they are and their natural beauty. They don’t want to disguise or cover up their true selves,” said Linda Severin, Vice President of Corporate Brands for The Kroger Co. “mirra uses the best of nature and science to provide women a beauty regimen that is both easy and effective.”
A Closer Look at mirra
The natural and scientific ingredients in mirra products are tested for effectiveness. For example, in mirra’s micro-remodeling cream, aloe and green tea team up with MATRIXL 3000 to reduce wrinkles, provide skin firmness, to sooth and deliver antioxidant properties. A study of MATRIXL 3000 was shown, in just two months, to significantly reduce wrinkle depth and skin roughness and improve skin tone.
FROM ME : I was recently given the opportunity to test out some Mirra beauty products for myself. I was sent body wash, shampoo, conditioner, day cream, night cream, eye cream, and lotion all full size products. I was asked to try them for a period of 2 weeks and then tell you what I think. Well, first off, I love that they are made with natural ingredients. I have been trying to go greener and also use less harsh things on my body, as well as on my families. So, I was impressed to read this about the Mirra Products.
They even just smell more natural. Which is the next thing I tend to do when trying a new product. I do a “smell test”. If I do not like the smell, I am not going to be putting it on my body or hair. Mirra products smell great, basically there isn’t much of a smell because they are natural, which is great by me.
Now, I must remind you (or if your a new reader) I do have insanely sensitive skin. Also, this winter has harmed my scalp a lot. I have had more flakes of my scalp then we have had snow flakes, well maybe not really, but I have been having issues!
The body wash is great, it didn’t break me out one bit, works nicely, and it made my skin feel soft. The shampoo and conditioner, made my hair very silky feeling and didn’t dry my scalp like other shampoo’s sometimes do (on me).
I like the day and night creams, they helped to keep my skin on my face feeling moist all day long. I didn’t use the eye cream much, just one time per day, and it also felt silky on my eyes.
The lotion also kept my legs and arms soft and moisturized and I didn’t have any problems with break outs. Which I hesitate to try new things due to my sensitiveness but knowing this was all natural I was ok to give it all a try. I am glad I did.

Nu Skin ageLOC™ Future Serum & WIN*
January 23, 2010 by theplus
2010 not only marks the start of a new decade, but the beginning of an anti-aging revolution. The beauty and grooming industry is filled to the brim with zillions of lotions, creams, washes and assorted serums all claiming to delay the common physical signs of aging. Everything from crow’s feet and laugh lines to 11’s between your eyebrows, however out of all of these products how many of them actually deliver on their “fountain of youth” claims?
Nu Skin has always prided itself on utilizing superior research and development to provide their customers with the most effective products available, which is clearly evident in their new ageLOC ™ science. What makes the ageLOC ™ series of products from Nu Skin different from the majority is that they not only target the signs of aging, but also the sources of aging by identifying groups of genes known as “youth gene clusters” which regulate how we look as we age. The ageLOC ™ products support resetting these gene clusters to their youthful patterns of activity, going far and beyond the status quo.
Brand new for 2010 is the ageLOC™ Future Serum, the latest Nu Skin product to utilize this revolutionary “turn back the clock” technology. This powerful, clinically tested anti-aging treatment product preserves the look of youth and reduces the appearance of aging in eight key ways:
1. Youthful skin structure: patent-pending ingredient technology stimulates collagen production three times greater than normal and provides a 60 percent decrease in harmful MMP production
2. Smooth skin texture: contains ingredients proven to stimulate youthful cell renewal for noticeably smoother and softer skin
3. Even skin tone: reduces the appearance of blotchy, dull and uneven skin
4. Reduced appearance of lines and wrinkles: a powerful anti-aging blend reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for more visually youthful skin
5. Radiant skin: includes skin brightening technology
6. Reduced appearance of pore size: reduces the appearance of pore size through youthful cell turnover
7. Reduced skin discoloration: skin brightening technology interrupts unwanted melanin production in the skin for a reduction in spots of discoloration
8. Hydrated skin: increases hydration by stimulating hyaluronic acid production, a moisturizing compound found naturally in the skin
The ageLOC™ Future Serum successfully addresses more signs of aging than any other Nu Skin product and is gently formulated, providing powerful ingredients in a mild formula that is neither drying nor irritating to the skin. As if this was not enough, this top-notch product is also paraben free and starts to show results in as few as seven days!
The ageLOC™ Future Serum is priced at $157.00 for a 30-day supply on automatic delivery and is available through your local Nu Skin distributer, call 1-800-487-1000 or visit www.nuskin.com.

The Age of the Plus Size Model ?
November 25, 2009 by theplus
Recently in the news a lot is being heard on the topic of plus size models hitting the scene in magazines, ads, and on television. There is a debate on what a plus size model is or isn’t that is the lively topic of a lot of talk shows and news stories.
Well, I am an expert about being plus size, I have been plus size most of my life, from back when I was a very young age, of 9 I can remember being plus size (for my age). I have struggled with my weight all along and even still today, struggle, but with a mush different optimism in my mind.
You see, I no longer let my weight be the ruler of me. It is what it is and I go on with life. My insides matter most. Yes, people see me and think oh my goodness, look at that fat lady, I am sure of this. And don’t get me wrong, I am not happy with my weight, and state of my health, and I think about it a lot. But I do not let it stop me from being who I am and what I do, for the most part.
I used to let it stop me. I used to let people get the best of me when people would call me names all throughout school. These people obviously ONLY could see the outer me and not my beautiful insides. Today more and more people are able to see the REAL me, and accept me for who I am. With more and more people struggling with weight and with obesity being at a very high rate. More and more people are understanding my struggle and going through it as well.
There are a lot of people in fact now that I see who weren’t plus size through out school, but I see them now, and they are where I am, so it does catch up to you if your not careful about what you eat and how you exercise (or the lack of).
What I wish people who are debating over all of this what is a good number to call plus size for models. And whether or not there should even be plus size models. What I wish they would go by, is not the number of size, but peoples beauty given to them from a higher power. Their inner beauty. When it comes to age, people often use “age ain’t nothing but a number”, then why do they have to go by the number when it comes to modeling and size clothing you wear? Why can’t models be judged by inner beauty and personality. I understand that it has to do with well, you cannot tell that in pictures. But I believe you can.
If a woman or man is confident, and feels great about themselves, it radiates through and
The beauty shines through. In pictures, in ads, commercials, in everything they do.
It totally shouldn’t go by any size. And shame on the modeling companies who do go by size. And a huge HORRAY to the companies who are coming out and seeing the need for the reality of how people really are and the way of the world today. And for taking the initial steps to change these outdated ways of ONLY using a size 4.
If they want to sell clothes or products, a beautiful, voluptuous, self confident woman with graceful curviness and a beautiful smile and the attitude you can pick up from her face with a proudness of flaunting what she has on and looking REAL can totally sell me any day. And if this means she is a size 4, then it is great, but if she is a size 24 this is fantastic to me too.
