* Look up baby name definitions by clicking on the blue arrow in your lists or choose the * “Surprise Me” option for a combination of unique names.  (Who knows, we may have found you a winner!)

* Browse by individual letter or customize it to search for a specific first and last letter

* Add names to your Favorites List to look at later!

Types of Names

Use our simple list scroll to find various baby names under exciting topics such as:

Introducing – Tommee Tippee* & Giveaway!

February 21, 2010 by theplus

I would love to introduce to you Tommee Tippee. What is Tommee Tippee you ask ?

It is a Brand New product that is hitting the store shelves in Babies R Us and Toys R Us stores near you!

I have had the great honor of trying their Sippy Cups and Baby Bottles on my daughter, and I wish they would’ve gotten to the USA sooner!

Here is some details of the “‘truly spill-proof first sips cup” -

  • unique soft-flex spout
  • advance flo- technology for easy drinking (Active Sensor valve system)
  • BPA FREE
  • Leak Proof
  • have been around for 50 years in the UK
  • Supports Natural Oral Development
  • Progressively Staged

What I thought about these Sippy Cups (My personal opinion) -

Upon first glance of the sippy cups, I immediately noticed the handles. I really like the soft handles that make it easy for my daughter to hold the sippy cup. After opening it, I noticed the creatively designed spout. It is different than any other sippy cup I have ever used with my children. My daughter  seems to like these sippy cups very well. They are easy to clean and also I truly have not had any problems with accidental leakage. Other sippy cups still tend to leak occasionally when turned upside down. The only trouble I had at all with the cup was getting the lid off for the first time. It is really smooth and takes a little getting used to. On the other hand I really like this about the cup, so my daughter cannot get the lid off and spill it every where. And once you get used to the lid, it is a piece of cake.

The Tommee Tippy Cup holds 5 fl oz. of liquid, and retails at Toys R US and Babies R US for approx.  $4.99.

Tommee Tippee Baby Bottles

Upon first glance at the Tommee Tippee bottles, I noticed the wide mouth top, making them so much easier to fill with milk than other bottles. I also love the nipples on the bottles. My daughter took to them right away, with no troubles at all. I love the caps too, they do not fall off like other bottles I have used.

Here are some more specific details on the bottles :

  • BPA FREE
  • 3 packs cost about $17.99 at Babies R Us/Toys R Us, which to me is a GREAT price for a 3 pack of bottles
  • 9 oz bottles instead of typical 8 oz ones
  • soft, naturally flexing nipples – making them more natural for babies
  • natural shape for babies to latch onto easier
  • ultrasensitive anti-colic valve lets babies feed at their own pace with reduced risk of gas and colic
  • very comfortable to hold

You can purchase them, read more, and see more photo’s of them, and more reviews here : http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3918819

Babies Of U.S. Olympic Athletes Among First To Get New High Performance Diaper – PAMPERS® CRUISERS WITH DRY MAX

January 29, 2010 by theplus

New Diaper is Pampers Driest Ever and 20 Percent Thinner Than Before-

Every baby is a champion in play, and to celebrate the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Pampers® Diapers has partnered with Team USA to introduce new Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max, the brand’s new high performance diapers sure to earn gold with world-class “players” – babies.

The babies of Team USA athletes will be equipped with the new Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max as they head to Vancouver. In honor of these athletes and their families, Pampers has created specially-branded Team USA diapers with the Dry Max technology. Although these limited-edition Team USA diapers will not be for sale, parents all across the country can buy Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max for their best players in the world in March. In the meantime, parents can request a free sample three-pack of the new Cruisers diaper on Pampers.com starting January 29th. If this sample includes a Team USA diaper (they will be randomly inserted in select sample packs), their baby will win a year’s supply of Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max.

To bring to life the incredible passion, endurance and ability babies demonstrate daily in the sport of play, Pampers Diapers has directly teamed with two world-class athlete families who are among the first to receive the special-edition Team USA diapers: Olympic gold medal speedskater Chad Hedrick and his family, and skeleton (forward-facing luge) World Champion and Olympic Hopeful Noelle Pikus-Pace and her family. These athlete families will be sharing their Vancouver experiences from their babies’ point of view throughout the Olympic Winter Games via photos and videos on Pampers.com.

“For many athletes, bringing home an Olympic medal is not just their dream, it’s a shared dream of their entire family,” said Jodi Allen, Vice President of North America Baby Care at Procter & Gamble including Pampers Diapers. “We are so proud to partner with these world-class athlete families, who are also parenting inspirations by training and succeeding while raising young, active children. We could not think of a more appropriate event than the Olympic Winter Games to celebrate babies as the world’s greatest players and introduce our new high-performance gear – Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max.”

Babies’ passion and dedication to play demonstrates that they are some of the best players in the world. Did you know that a cruising baby in one day can take as many steps as a marathon runner in a race, and a nine-month old baby can crawl up to 400 meters in 20 minutes? It’s this active play that continually inspires the Pampers brand, and that’s why moms and dads are encouraged to log on to Pampers.com beginning February 12 to join in celebrating the development of their own best players. Parents will have the ability to upload a video of their baby crawling from left to right, and randomly selected videos will be compiled into a Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max “Baby Relay” commercial which will air during closing day of the Olympic Winter Games, giving babies a chance to showcase their own playful ability in the same forum as the most elite athletes.

“Pampers is delighted to give all babies the chance to be awarded for their everyday medal-worthy performances,” Allen said. “The technology incorporated into new Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max makes them 20 percent thinner than before and our driest diaper ever, providing game-changing improvements to babies in terms of performance and comfort, permitting them to be the best players they can be!”

Chad Hedrick – U.S. Olympic Speedskater

A skater from the young age of 18 months, Hedrick today is as dedicated to his family as he is to his sport.

“It makes perfect sense for me to be talking about Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max since it is a performance diaper. As an athlete, I understand that wearing high performance gear can mean the difference between coming in first place or fifth. And as a parent, I look for high performance gear for my daughter, Hadley,” Hedrick said.

With his unconventional technique and unique style, Hedrick quickly rose to the top of the speedskating world having won the 2004 all-around during the World Championships, and following it up by becoming the third U.S. winter Olympian to take three medals in a single Games, during the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino. A recent World Cup gold medal winner at the Calgary Olympic Oval and currently juggling fatherhood responsibilities, Hedrick is not only a winner on the ice, but also at home.

“With the Torino Games success in my rearview mirror, I’ve rekindled my passion for skating and am ready to make new memories and once again go for the gold at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games,” Hedrick said.

Noelle Pikus-Pace – U.S. Olympic Hopeful

For Noelle Pikus-Pace, the road to the Olympic Winter Games will be far less of a fairy tale. Going into the 2006 season, Pikus-Pace was favored to win gold in the Olympic Winter Games in Torino, but a tragic accident during the U.S. Olympic Team Trials shattered that dream when she was hit by a runaway bobsled, leading her to suffer a compound fracture to her right leg. After a miraculous six-week recovery, Pikus-Pace made her comeback and went on to win the World Skeleton Championships by the largest margin in history. Furthering her accomplishments, in 2008, she became a proud mother to her daughter, Lacee.

“Winning a medal this year would go beyond a celebration all my own; it would truly be a win for my entire family who have been a significant source of strength and support for me,” Pikus-Pace said. “We’re all on this Olympic journey together, and we consider ourselves a team. We’re delighted to include Pampers Diapers as part of that extended team and definitely plan to have some fun ‘playing’ along the way.”

“In gearing up for competition, I always look for gear that’s not only spirited, but more importantly, items that won’t sacrifice my performance, and I want the same for my daughter,” Pikus-Pace said. “The fact that Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max are smaller in size means that they’ll also take up less space as we pack and head off together to Vancouver.”

Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max – Biggest Innovation in 25 Years

Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers with Dry Max are the brand’s new high performance diapers and the biggest innovation for the Pampers brand in the last 25 years. Pampers Diapers invented the Dry Max technology and applied it to the current Swaddlers and Cruisers core, which allows the diaper to be thinner than before. This game-changing diaper – Pampers’ driest ever – helps lock wetness in for up to 12 hours and its less bulky design helps give flexibility and comfort – perfect for all of babies’ play. The new diaper design also helps families reduce their impact on the environment by containing 10 percent less material weight. In fact, if current North American Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers users switched to the new Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max diaper, they could together throw away the weight of 1 billion less diapers every three years (based on 08/09 volume for Swaddlers/Cruisers).

Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max will be available at retail across the country beginning in March 2010. Product will be available at mass, discount, baby specialty, grocery stores and online retailers where Pampers products are sold, with the same retail pricing as the current Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers Diapers (pricing is at the sole discretion of the retailer).

Q-tips and Elephants you can WIN*

January 23, 2010 by theplus

Q-tips® cotton swabs has teamed up with Celebrity Nursery Designer, Wendy Bellissimo, to introduce the newest addition to the Q-tips® family – Q-tips® Baby Packs.  Wendy, who is no stranger to designing perfect nursery spaces, has worked with celebrity moms like Brooke Shields and Kelly Ripa.  She has great tips and tricks to create a nursery that is both beautiful and practical … to care for any baby with style!

I was sent a nursery pack with the following included :

o   NEW Q-tips® Baby Packs in two designs (safari & farm animals)

- The new Q-tips® Baby Packs are a stylish nursery essential that are functional and finally cute enough to keep out in the baby’s room

-  In two adorable nursery animal designs, these space-saving packs make it easy for mom to keep Q-tips® cotton swabs at her fingertips and feature a sliding drawer that helps keep Q-tips® clean for use in baby care

o   A chic, silver elephant bank to display in baby’s room – another nursery design essential

o   OH BABY!   Wendy Bellissimo Shares Her Tips on How To Create The Perfect Nursery

The Q-tip nursery boxes are simply adorable. When the Q-tips are gone I am going to re-purpose them to hold my daughters little jewelry and hair accessories. They are too cute to throw away. I love how they slide too. There are 285 Q-tips in each pack. (will be coming to Walmart and Target and will retail for about  $3.19 per pack).

The little silver elephant bank is simply gorgeous. It has pastel colors on it too. It is a heavy little bank and will make my daughters nursery even more complete. Every little baby needs a bank to keep their money from birthdays and holidays. Or for potty time rewards when the time comes.

TIPS from Wendy Bellissimo :

  1. Be Your Own Designer: Go through magazines, catalogs and visit baby & furniture stores to see the looks available. Choose a style that feels most natural to you so the nursery can become an extension of your home. Then create your own book or board of clippings, fabric samples and photos for inspiration. Start the design process well before your due date so that you have time to relax before the baby’s arrival.
  2. Save the Paint for Last: Select your nursery furniture and fabric before you paint. It is easy to find a paint shade to match your furniture/fabrics and not always the other way around. Keep in mind, furniture and fabrics do not all need to match – a great mix of textures that complement each other can add a truly custom, “designer” feel.
  3. Don’t Sacrifice Style for Functionality: It is easy to create a beautiful, organized space in the nursery to care for your baby (without the piles of diapers and a mess of toiletries). Place a basket or fabric covered box (from an arts & crafts or paper store) on the changing table or shelf above and fill with diapers, Vaseline® petroleum jelly, diaper cream and rubbing alcohol. One nursery essential you won’t have to hide is the new Q-tips® Baby Pack! They are available in two adorable nursery animal designs and are functional (with a new sliding drawer that keeps Q-tips® cotton swabs protected for baby) so they can always be within arm’s reach.
  4. Add a Personal Touch: Give your nursery a personal touch by adding framed covers of your favorite childhood books or classic black & white or sepia photos of you and your significant other when you were babies.
  5. Create A Sleepy Time Sanctuary: We all need our beauty rest, so it is important to create an environment that’s peaceful for your baby to sleep. Create a calming atmosphere with soothing colors and softer tones rather than bright or harsh colors. Then, use accents to add pops of color without being too overwhelming. Be careful not to make the room too dark or too quiet at nap time. This way your child will be able to fall asleep in any environment, which is great when you are traveling or when new siblings arrive! You can also play soft, soothing music or lullabies to help the baby fall asleep.
  6. Room to Grow: Choose design options that can grow with your child – consider color palette, furniture style, storage options and a play/reading area. Look for a dresser with drawers and cabinets, rather than a standard changing table and simply secure a changing pad on top. Once your child outgrows diapers, you will have a beautiful piece of furniture with drawers for clothing and cabinets for toys that are within reach for your child.
  7. X vs. Y: Not finding out the sex of your baby? No worries! Design a gender-neutral nursery with yellow, green, white or crème and simply add touches of blue or pink accessories when the baby arrives – these simple changes can be made to anything from the receiving blanket to the changing pad. These color options also give you the flexibility to use the bedding over again for a new sibling.
  8. To Theme or Not to Theme: Nursery themes such as safari, princess or transportation are a great way to create a fun, lighthearted statement. A themed nursery can still be done tastefully if the items are selected in moderation. For example, if you are doing a safari-style mural, keep bedding and fabrics neutral so the room doesn’t look overdone.
  9. Accessorize: A few must-have accessories for any nursery are books, books and more books! You can also add a silver piggy bank and a few irresistibly soft stuffed animals that will quickly become your child’s best friends! Even my celebrity clients still go for the traditional accessories – they bring us all back to that magical time of childhood.
  10. The Essentials: When designing your nursery (large or small), you should always keep these essentials in mind – a crib, rocker, changing table/dresser, light dimmer switch and books within the little one’s reach. If you do not have enough space for a bookcase, a basket for the floor will do the trick perfectly. Your little one will be crawling around before you know it and handing you their favorite book at bedtime!

Constant Prayers

January 14, 2010 by theplus

I have a lot of prayer requests that I have been fulfilling lately. I thought I would do a post about them and pass it along so you all can pray along with me. The more Prayers sent up the better I say.

I went to church tonight to pray and also I have lit Prayer candles in everyone’s names. I will lite these candles and say a Prayer every day and night for these people and their families. God can work wonders. I am a testament to this.

Haiti – Pretty self explanatory, if you have heard anywhere about the Earthquake that hit there, you will know that these people of this tiny country need all the Prayers and God Speed to them as much as possible.

Sorel – A friend of mine, he lives in Haiti, he is a friend for about 7 years now, at least. He lives and works in Port Au Prince, in Petionville.  Right where the most damage is. I haven’t been able to reach him through facebook, twitter, messages, or pager, or cell phone. I am worried for him, and Pray he is okay.

Ruth – She is Sorels beloved wife.

Ruud – Sorel and Ruth’s son , he was 4 in November.

Jennae – Jennae is a fellow blogger who recently had found out that her 4 yr. old daughter has Leukemia. Prayers to them for healing and strength.

Audrey – Prayers needed for her father and her family.

Shellie – her son was in a tragic accident where he drowned and passed away. He was a toddler. Keeping her in Prayers. She is another fellow blogger.

Anissa – she has suffered a major stroke and was in a coma, she is healing and pulling through. I am continuing my prayers for her and her family for strength to endure the road ahead of them. Anissa is also a beloved fellow blogger.

All I can do is Pray the rest is up to God for his will. But I will do my part. Won’t you all chime in with Prayers too. These people all mean a lot to me and this is the least I can do for them all.

If you have a Prayer Request, whether large or small. please leave it in the comments. You can be anonymous, or u can say, Prayers Personal, if you like. God will understand and will know the reason. All we need to Pray is for God to hear you and us.

Thank you all. Your Sister In Christ, and God Bless,

The Plus Size Mommy
