The Few. The Proud.

I have a friend named Brent that is a Marine. He is currently “on tour” (don’t know why they call it that) in Afghanistan. He has been a very dear friend of mine since we were kids. I think about age 7 (we are 34 now). He is a daddy to 3 precious children who are here just waiting for him to return home. I couldn’t even imagine what that would feel like to have my daddy gone so much, but to him, this is his job, and unfortunately it means him going to war and going to other countries to fight for freedom and to fight for our freedom. This is Brent’s first time in Afghanistan, and as I hear on the news things are very very bad over there. Every time I hear that one of our men have died, my heart skips a beat.

I pray for him every day and every night that he is okay, and that he will return home to his family. I even have a special candle I light just for him. He doesn’t even know all of this (maybe he will now). When I have talked to his sister I always ask if she knows anything and if all is okay. Brent is a Single daddy. His kids are in good hands while he is gone, but I am sure it just isn’t the same without their dad home, where they know he is okay. (pretty much).

It takes a strong man or woman to be in the military. Strong to endure and go to these battles, and I know they rather be home. I know he rather be home. brent2

My Prayer:

Please God Keep Brent safe and out of harms way. Please watch over him and lay your hands upon him while he is in Afghanistan and wherever  else he may go. Please guide him in the right directions and allow him to give all of his fears and worries up to you.Let him know you are with him God, show him signs. Brent is a Christian man and he believes in you God. God, Brent is strong . but we know you are much stronger and have all the almighty power. You can control his destiny. Please God, make that destiny for him to get through this and be home soon. His children need him God. They will be lost without a father. No one can replace a daddy, God. They need him to come home to them. Brent is loved by so many, so many people who need him. Please in the Name of Jesus Holy Name bring him home soon to them. Thank You God. AMEN.

PRAYER and FASTING

Please help me pray for Brent and all of the other members of the military who are not at home. Please pray that they are safe and will be home soon. I am also going to be fasting for him and them who are serving this week end. If you would like to participate, please comment and show the love and tell me you are. If you are unable t fast due to a medical condition, that is fine, but if you will still pray, please leave me a comment and let me and him know you care and you are praying for him and his family.Thank You in advance!

Beth
