TriDerma MD Eczema Fast Healing cream

My 10 year old son Zachary has a severe eczema problem. He was basically born with it. He used to itch his poor baby head so much that it would bleed all over the crib. So we always had to cover his hands with mittens so he would be able to itch so much. He was a very fussy baby too, and hardly wanted to be held. I used to feel so badly for him because he would just cry and cry and itch and itch. It was awful. Sometimes I would cry along with him, as I felt like a helpless mommy.

I started taking him to a pediatric dermatologist in our area. She was world renouned. She treated children in Europe (Scotland and Ireland) and she told me and my husband that our baby had one of, if not THE worst case of Eczema she had ever seen. She put him on about 6 different creams we had to administer onto him throughout the day. He has it all over him, not just in like joins or on hands like most children. I asked her if it was things I ate while pregnant with him, or anything I might have done to cause my poor baby to have such a severe case ? She said no, it is most likely hereditary.

After thinking about that I discovered when my hubby liveed in Jamaica his mom had to make him wear long sleeve shirts (yes! In jamaica) because his skin was so sensative. Also, I have a lot of allergies, and my mom told me she could never wear anything with red dye in it on me or I would break out. We are all also allergic to certain foods, and we also have asthma (My whole family). So this must be where it all stems from.

The doctor also gave him oral medications, steroids (which I wasn’t too happy about), and allergy medicine called Zyrtec. After a few weeks we did notice that he was clearing up. He was allowed to stop taking the steroids (to my relief) but we still had to do his daily regimines of applying all the creams and giving him the oral medication.

The doctor told us she had hoped he would grow out of it, as a lot of children do, or at least it will get better. THANKFULLY it has. He is now 10 years old. He still has EXTREMELY rough skin and now he puts the cream on himself, and he no longer has to take anything oral unless he has a major break out (which usually happens in season changes). He also goes to an allergy doctor now. He was tested positive for being allergic to peanuts.

I still have to watch closely because, like when we go swimming the chlorine kills his skin, poor guy. So we have to make sure he showers and lotions up immediately after swimming. We also have to watch what we put on him sunscreen wise, what I do laundry with, soaps , shampoo’s, conditioners, anything that touches him can cause a major problem. At school and a lot of functions he is in they always want the kids to use that hand sanitizer, well he is allergic so I have to make sure to tell everyone and now he tells them he is allergic. (Although I have happily found that he is NOT allergic to the BabyGanics kind of hand sanitizer, so now I send a bottle of that with him, and also send some to teachers for his own personal use). trid2

So, recently I was asked to try TriDerma MD Eczema Fast Healing cream. I knew I has to be careful when trying this on Zach, because I didn’t want him suffering if he would end up allergic to it. But at the same time, when you have a child like this, you will try ANYTHING to make them feel better and comfortable.

So, what I decided to do was “Test” it  (like you test hair dye on 1 strand so you can be sure you are okay with it) the first time we tried it, I only let him use a wee little bit on one spot on his arm. We waited a day, and all was okay, so each day we tried it on another spot. So far so good. And I could see a major difference in his skin, as it was helping the dryness, and where the cracks in his skin were, they were starting to heal.

I was so pleased with this product, it DID indeed help my Zach’s skin and he did itch less with it on. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with similar problems, however, I would do the same skin test first, since everyone is different.  We have been using this now everyday and we went and bought some more so we always have it on hand. I actually have used it too on my cracked sore feet, and it also helped me. It not only made my feet feel a lot better, but it also healed the cracks and felt soothing on them.

I LOVE that this is a natural product. It is an over the -counter product, so I dont have to run or call the doctor for a prescription when we need it. They are dermatologist recommended to help tackle dryness, redness, itchiness, and any part of your skin that is hard to heal.
