Remember when the Bookmobile was around back in the day? I do. I remember it coming to my elementary school. I remember how excited all the kids were on bookmobile day. I remember the big blue bookmobile pulling up and load after load of classrooms in grades 1-5 would all get a turn to go on and choose a new weekly book to read. The concept of the bookmobile was simple, yet so meaningful to us kids. A library on wheels. Reaching ever child every where to get the books to them so they could read about adventures near and far.
Now take that same concept. But switch it up a little. With something that EVERY child Deserves – HEALTH CARE ! (and there is also books and stickers involved:) )
This is what the Connecting Kids to Care with Clorox is all about. A bus loaded with essential medical equipment and a Doctor that goes around from community to community to provide FREE health care to the children who are in so much need. Homeless children, displaced children, children whose parents lost jobs and cannot afford healthcare for them anymore, children who live in a single parent home and they struggle to afford childcare and other medical costs, children without dental care, children without mental health care, and children without prescription coverage. This program REALLY hits home for many many families in America. These days not only should no child be left behind in the classrooms, but no child should be left behind in their medical and dental care either.
As adults, most of us realize that early intervention is key. So the younger children see the Doctors for things such as well-baby exams, and immunizations, many many things can be prevented right off the bat. But some parents and adults, even knowing this, cannot afford what is best for their children. Nor can they afford transportation to get to these doctors.
Many places around the USA lack pediatricians, and care. Many places have long waiting lists to see doctors and especially specialists.
I cannot even begin to imagine how I would feel as a mother of 4 children, if I couldn’t afford to get my babies the health care they needed. Not only when they are sick, but just for even routine basic check ups. I would be so upset. And then if I couldn’t get to the doctors or had none for miles away no where accessible to me. I would be so scared. What if my babies got sick ? What if it was an emergency? Can you imagine your heart breaking? I do not even want to imagine it.
Here is more about this GREAT program, and with just a click you can help get many more dollars to buy the basic things these doctors need. You can help get more of these Rolling pediatrician offices on the road to more area’s, and most importantly, you can get more help for these precious children and their families.
FROM CLOROX :
As part of its commitment to preventive health for families, Clorox is donating half a million dollars to Children’s Health Fund to help support CHF’s goal of providing half a million health care visits to disadvantaged children across the country, over the next two years. In addition, Clorox is donating one dollar for each new ‘fan’ on the Clorox Facebook page, up to $100,000.
About Connect Kids to Care:
Many parents can make a quick phone call to the doctor if they have a sick child.
However, 1 in 5 children in the U.S. live in poverty and millions of children don’t have access to regular check-ups and timely doctor’s visits when sick. Without access to essential health care, many children go without treatment for common ailments, like asthma or cavities, which can lead to bigger problems if left untreated.
Children’s Health Fund (CHF), a non-profit organization committed to providing health care to the nation’s most medically underserved children and their families, teamed up with Clorox to launch Connect Kids to Care.
As part of Clorox’s commitment to preventive health for families, the company is donating half a million dollars to CHF to help support CHF’s goal of providing half a million health care visits to disadvantaged children across the country, over the next two years.
In addition, Clorox is donating $1.00 for each new ‘fan’ on the Clorox Facebook page, up to $100,000.

And if you need more testimony on how wonderful the Doctors are and how much the kids love and appreciate them :
I was fortunate enough to be on a conference call with Dr. Gracy, she is as caring and committed and REALISTIC as it comes. She connects with the children. She said her first question to these families during the screening is do you have food, and shelter? Then she helps them medically. She forms bonds with these families and shows them that she truly cares about them. Dr. Gracy is truly a remarkable human being. She is definitely making differences in peoples lives.
Now go over to Facebook and do your part by just becoming a Fan. Then YOU will certainly be a fan back to these precious children!

Now, Here is also some great tips I would love to share with you on how to stay healthy:
After helping make an impact on the lives of others, families will be encouraged to make sure they are doing all they can to maintain a healthier environment in their own homes. Ensuring that everyone is getting regular check-ups and practicing other healthy habits can impact an entire family and everyone in the surrounding communities. These habits include:
o Encourage your family to wash their hands well with warm water and soap. This helps prevent the spread of infection.
o Talk to your kids often about how they’re feeling. Simply asking this question can help you be better informed about any health problems your child may be experiencing.
o Keep your kids on a regular teeth-brushing schedule. Watch them brush every now and then to make sure they’re using the proper technique.
o Make sure you are all getting plenty of sleep, eating right, exercising and wearing warm clothes when it’s cold.
o Disinfect frequently touched surfaces like light switches and counters to help reduce the spread of germs.
o Keep the whole family up-to-date on important immunizations.
THANK YOU so much for caring and helping to spread the word on this WONDERFUL, MEANINGFUL campaign!
