Michael Jackson- The Icon, The Artist, The MAN

pics from fanpix.net

I have already wrote a lot of how I feel on this subject on Twitter, so if you follow me there, I am sure you already know how I feel. When I heard the news yesterday, I was in total shock ! I mean Michael  Jackson, DEAD ! ? Could this be ?! I mean, of course people live and die, this is the circle of life. But this was too soon for a man of his legend! It all seemed so surreal to me. And kind of still does.

Michael Jackson is a worldwide name. Anywhere you go on this Earth everyone knows his name. It is almost like the Earth was his Cheers! Who would’ve ever thought this little child from Indiana would have ever become such a worldwide ICON ? I mean, his name is as big as McDonalds, Disney, and Nike ! Everyone know about Michael Jackson. And no matter what type of genre of music you like, you still can name at least 1 of his songs.  He is and was and always will be a Legend. He will always hold the title “King of Pop”, and no matter if you liked him or not, you will never be able to take that title away from him.

His moves were as silky smoothe as whipped butter. He could glide across the floor and stage like no other. He was a performer on and off of the stage. His music the beat just moves through your body and lifts you. Even people who don’t dance, move to Michaels music. He was a black American who could erase color lines like no others of his time. I can remember my father telling me (and this wasn’t a good thing, and I am not proud to say this, but it is to make a point) “you can marry to a black person, but ONLY if it is Michael Jackson or Bill Cosby”. I am sure I am not the only white girl who heard such things from her parents. (My father quickly got over his racistness after I did Indeed marry a black man, who WASN’T Michael Jackson). I would listen to his music over and over and over again. I Still have albums of it. I love the young Michael as much as the older one. His voice is like no other. His meaning of his songs is genuine and life changing.

I remember watching him helping children and taking them into Neverland, and letting them ride the rides and see the animals. When children went there, they were able to forget their diseases and problems they faced in the world and relax and be a child. He helped so so so many people. He battled through racism using songs as his voice, he wrote about children in his music, and love, and peace. He harmonized about people of the world and gave them strength to go on. To FACE their troubles, and become so much more.

His talent can never be replaced. I spoke on twitter about how, he had concerts coming up, sold out ones (I may add), and how MAD I would be if I was a ticketholder. It would be a once in a lifetime chance to see him in concert. And then I added how I was thinking to myself, if I had a ticket and was told I could choose another preformer of my choice to replace not seeing Michael, who would I choose ?

……and I came up with NO ONE. The closest I could think of was Madonna, Barack Obama, or Oprah (and Barack and Oprah aren’t singers!) last night I thought some more and came up with Prince. But even they would NEVER add up to seeing Michael. No one is of his magnitude in my eyes.

I can remember when Thriller came out. I was in Elementary school and my friend Heather was having a birthday party. I saw the Thriller video for the very first time at her party. It was so exciting.  I will NEVER forget that. His music has moved me, touched my heart, spoken to me, showed me how to care for people, and be REAL.

I know a lot of people are skeptical of him because of allegations thrown at him of  harming children, and pedophilia. I dont and never did see him as doing those things. I mean, he has had NUMEROUS NUMEROUS chances in Africa, and Asia, and all over the World to moleste children, why would only 2 speak out ? People do not become molesters in a day. It is like a sickness, and illness. similar to dracula needing to suck blood to survive. He would have had many chances with many children. So 2 speaking out didn’t get my mind to think badly of him. And even if I am wrong, then I am sure he is dealing with it with God now anyways.

He was judged sooo badly and I believe he truly hurt inside. When a star is so popular there is always judgement. People judge others by what they see on the outside. If your fat, too skinny, black, bald, Asian, Middle Eastern, short, rich, poor, Jewish, tall, wear a religious garment, have freckles, are a redhead, are Hispanic, whatever else (too many to list), you will always be judged. This is sooooooooo wrong ! Not only is it wrong, but it hurts people. People do not even know how much it can hurt another person at times. No one else can walk in your shoes. No one knows where you came from, nor where your going. You may have just had the worst day ever and then someone says something judgemental to you, and now you hurt like hell.

Michael Jackson was a HUMAN BEING. He bleeds just like us, he cries just like us, he has feelings just like us. Yes, he was an ICON of the World, but before he was ever that, he was a person.

He liked to entertain and move people, and he totally accomplished both.

He will be truly missed now and forever. Our children will learn about him in school, as we learn about Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. He will be honored even in death. I just pray that he is honored how he was , and honored and remembered fairly. I hope people will allow him to Rest In Peace. I hope his songs and music will be played for decades to come, and that people will STILL dance the moonwalk and lean as a smoothe criminal. I hope other Icons will follow in his footsteps and make a difference on this Earth as he has. I hope his dreams of Peace, and Love, and kindness among Humans will be met all over the World.

I love you Michael, I only knew you as a fan, but the way you have touched peoples hearts and souls you feel so much closer. May you rest in Peace and may your family be lifted up with God’s strong arms and be held through this sadness. Maybe I feel your closer because your a brother of mine through our Father in Heaven. May you moonwalk on the clouds……………… You are finally home and can rest.  (1958-2009)
