A couple weeks ago I was asked to have a Picnic and Family movie night to watch the Yogi Bear movie. My kids were so excited (as was I) because we love Yogi Bear and Boo Boo in my house. It brings me great memories from when I was a kid. I just thought it was so funny to watch Yogi stealing all of those pic a nic baskets
When the new movie came out, we didn’t have the ability to go to a cinema to watch it (with 8 of us living here, it is quite expensive) so we did the next best thing (and much more inexpensive thing) We rented the Redbox movie of it.
And I completed it with a picnic dinner of our own. The kids loved it so much, they wanted to watch it again, and have a picnic lunch the next day! It was a ton of fun. We all loved the movie and the picnic, it was fun to pair the 2 together to have a nice family night together. The only thing we weren’t happy about was that we really wanted to have our picnics outside but with all of the rain we have been getting we weren’t able to, so I did the next best thing, and had it in the diningroom complete with a red and white checkered table cloth and of course a pic a nic basket!
Here is a ThisMoment.com picture story of our shopping and preparing and all of the fun!
For the Dinner we had : Chicken from Walmart, macaroni salad, cupcakes with cute watermelon picks in them also from Walmart, cantaloupe and strawberries, baked beans, and dinner rolls.
and the lunch pic a nic (first we went back to Walmart to get the needed supplies)
Then we ate lunch! For lunch we had Natural Peter Pan Peanut Butter Sandwiches and for a treat we had Hunt's Snack Pack Pudding cups that I topped off with Reddi-Whip topping (which everyone loved).
The Yogi Bear movie was a fun movie the whole family was able to enjoy together. It was about how Mr. Ranger had to save Jellystone Park from the mayor who was going to come in and take it over and make it into a place to harvest the tree's. After a foiled attempt (because of Yogi and Boo Boo's good idea turned bad) They had to find a way to raise the money to keep the park going. Yogi and Boo Boo were as cute as ever.
We had a wonderful 2 days of Yogi bear and picnics!
If your looking for something fun and different to do with your family and it is raining outside or cold, pairing a themed meal with a movie is a great way to share quality family time together.
What movie do you want to see? Check out Redbox to see if they have it, for $1 a night, it is a GREAT deal! You can even pre-rent a movie that isn’t out yet and you will be alerted when it is in so you can be sure to get it to watch!
Happy Family Time,
The Plus Size Mommy
