Do you LOVE Thirty-One and can’t get enough?? Join my “Hostess of the month club!”
I’m looking for 11 ladies (at least) who want to participate in a unique group. Each lady must agree to purchase at least $31 worth of Thirty-One product each month, from Feb 2012 – Dec 2012. Each month, one of the 11 ladies in this exclusive group will get to ‘host’ the party that month using the orders placed by the other 10 ladies. Everyone will know which month that they will be ‘hosting’ ahead of time. So if it’s your month to host, you can choose to collect even more orders from your personal friends and family to boost your hostess benefits for that month! Check the FAQ’S below for more information–it is a WIN/WIN for YOU!

FAQs:
Why spend $31 a month?
By spending $31 a month (before shipping and tax), this will open up the Monthly Customer Specials to all members of this group. We all love the monthly specials and this is a great way to make sure we get them! It also guarantees that each monthly hostess has a party volume of $340-350. Maybe even more!

Why FEB 2012 – DEC 2012?
I’ve selected this time frame so that as a group, you will be purchasing from 3different catalogs, starting with our new Spring 2012 catalog beginning Feb 1, a new Summer catalog for 2012 and finally, our Fall/Winter Catalog for 2012. Just think of all the fresh, new products that you will add to your collection from these 3 catalogs!!!

Can anyone join? – SURE! As long as you live in the USA you are able to join. Products will be shipped directly to you. Everything can be done online Sales tax is based on where you live.

As the ‘Hostess’ for the month, what’s in it for me?
When it is your time to Host the month, you will receive the orders from the other 10 ladies participating in this group via my webpage. So there is no passing out books or collecting orders. This will guarantee that you receive $340-350 in orders, which will automatically qualify you for the second tier of Hostess Rewards offered by the company. In addition, this may give you the opportunity to take advantage of one of the 5 NEW Hostess EXCLUSIVE. You will definitely want to be a hostess! In short, as the monthly Hostess, you will receive free and discounted product!! So what’s not to love!! You may still host a party or take up a catalog order at anytime to make sure you earn all 5 of the new hostess exclusives.

How will you decide who will host which month?
After I have 11 ladies who want to participate, I will simply go in alphabetical order to determine who will host which months. Simple and fair.

So, if you’re a fan of Thirty-One and have either hosted a party in the past, have wanted to host a party in the future but are nervous about collecting orders, this is a way to guarantee at least $340 in sales for your party. You will be adding to your Thirty-One collection throughout the year, ordering from 4 different catalogs, and also earning free and discounted product as well. In addition, as your consultant, I will be collecting the orders for each month from this group, so you don’t have to worry about collecting orders, unless you choose to collect more orders when it’s your turn to host. It is a WIN WIN situation for everyone involved!

I am looking forward to adding you to my “Hostess of the Month Club.” I only have 11 spots, which have already started filling up. So email me ASAP if you would like to participate. We will be turning our first order mid February with our first Hostess of the Month. I’m really looking forward to this opportunity and know you will be too!

Please email me with any questions you may have.(plussizemommy@gmail.com) This is open to the first 11 people who respond. Unless I can get 22 eager customers! I can’t think of an easier way to earn some free products and discounted monthly specials! The minimum is $31 spent/month.

My email is plussizemommy@gmail.com

Please let me know ASAP if you would like to be in The Club, so I can send you one of our NEW Spring 2012 Catalogs out right away!!

I Cannot Wait for you to join in the fun! Happy Shopping!

The Plus Size Mommy

Disclosure – I am an Independent Consultant for Thirty-One gifts. I may get compensated if people sign up for my club through this post. Compensation is through my working as a consultant for Thirty-One Gifts.

What Is Thirty-One Gifts? - = Straight from the Thirty One Website:

Eight years ago I was working full time in corporate America, trying to live life with my husband and our two children, managing work, home, church, kids’ activities and still trying to find time for myself. On top of all that, I am a girl, and girls must shop, right? My busy lifestyle made it so difficult to find time to visit all of those cute little gift boutiques where the really great products are. I decided it was time for working moms and women everywhere to get a chance to shop on their terms. I prayed to find a way to offer something that would help women like me contribute to their lives financially by owning their own business. It is from this passionate resolve that Thirty-One was born. I began sewing purses with one machine in the basement of my home in Chattanooga, Tenn., and I’m awestruck when I see how far we have come with the support and dedication of so many people. Today, our Thirty-One family has grown to more than 40,000 Consultants nationwide!

The name Thirty-One comes from the verses of Proverbs 31. These words may be thousands of years old, but I am constantly amazed by how today’s modern woman can relate to them. The Proverbs 31 woman is dearly loved and respected by him and her children, yet she is an individual in her own right. She manages the home and property with kindness and integrity. Her savvy business skills are partly brought about by her desire to serve others, to do good deeds and prosper. I knew women just like this, and I wanted to find a way for every woman to be recognized for who they are and for their hard work!

Our mission is a reflection of this philosophy: to celebrate, encourage and reward women by offering quality products and an outstanding opportunity to become successful business owners. We have seen this mission play out through the years in the individual lives of so many women who now have their own “Thirty-One story.” Many work full-time jobs and use their Thirty-One income to help pay for those extras in life like vacations. Some of our Consultants had a dream to be debt-free and have paid off houses and cars. Others have seen Thirty-One become a lifeline to their families in difficult economic times. Despite all the bad news we hear today, our Consultants are selling at record rates.

Our stylish, affordable products are exclusive to Thirty-One. From our signature purses and totes to storage solutions that help organize your life, you’ll find something to fit every personality and situation. Each season, we develop new products built on the idea that our products must be functional AND fashionable (and, of course, make great gifts!).

(The above info. was taken straight from the Thirty-One Website.)

Chiming in here just to say Hello and Hoping that everyone has had wonderful holidays and a Happy New Year to all.
I don’t know about some of you but this past yr. and actually the last part of 2010 to me I was just like drifting by. Just basically getting by on my blog to keep it alive and not doing too much. I have had a lot of medical problems and so on.

Anywho… I am now refreshed, feeling better (yay) and off to the drawing board with my blog. I am going to get it revamped and revv’ed back up to where I want it to be.
The past couple weeks while thinking about it, I have made a goal board, so I know what NEW direction I want to go and where I want to be by this time in 2013!

I am planning a couple conference’s to go to this year to get refreshed and get idea’s and also to see all my buddies. After all, I haven’t been to one in quite a while. If you have never been to one, you should try and make a budget allowance for at least one of the smaller one’s just to go and see what they are all about.(My favorite one, I must say is Type A Parent).

I am excited for the plans I have to come for 2012. I have dropped some other community involvement so I can concentrate and be more on board with the one’s I really care about, not that the other’s aren’t good, it is just like anything else in life. Changes are here for me.
I felt like I was spreading myself too thin the last yr. and 1/2 and bogged myself down, not doing well in any community. I have decided in my goal plan that I won’t be doing this anymore.

That the groups I join and the offers I take are one’s that are important, relevant, and I have knowledge of already. I am also excited to be trying out some new products.
I do not have babies anymore, so I am dropping that part of my blogs reviews and such. (My kids are always my babies, but age wise, they aren’t baby babies anymore). I will be focusing on area’s that have been meaningful to me in the first place.

My blog (http://www.theplussizemommy.com) came to be because I have a strong passion (actually part of the vein of my existence) toward making fashion better and more beautiful for the plus size woman (and teens). A woman who is not a size 7 but for woman like me, who want to be fashionably fun, fashionably savvy, and fashionably professional. One where people will look at us and know we too are a meaningful part of society and we want the classic fits, the gorgeous gowns, and just plain jeans and tee’s that fit us like they do a size 5, but made for us gals (or boys, girls, teens) who are plus sized. Clothes made to look like they are meant for us. Clothes that aren’t extremely uncomfortable, because we have to try and fit a size 22 into a 16 just because we want “That Look” (which the only look we get is that of a stuffed cabbage roll).

I created this blog, to make a difference in the fashion industry. To let clothes designers know that WE ARE HERE, and we want the same looks they make for smaller woman for us.

Being Plus Size isn’t anything new. We have been around forever, and we aren’t going away anytime soon.
Many pundits say we should lose weight, that we are unhealthy, that we need to lose our Curvaceousness. But like I heard on The Today Show‘s Dr. Nancy Snyderman yesterday, “I think we will have a chance for an Anti-Cancer vaccine sooner then curing the obesity epidemic”.(time – 2:25)

I have been battling weight loss for 25 out of my 37 years on this planet. I have tried everything under the sun. I have wanted to lose weight so badly that I underwent life threatening surgery (gastric bypass) over 10 years ago , with the mentality that if I am going to die being obese,I rather die trying not to be. And STILL didn’t lose weight, even after following all that I was told to follow. I have exercised, dieted, counted calories, and so on and to no avail, here I am 37 years young, and still obese.

It is funny because through this past year and half I have been diagnosed with MS and in a severe depression. I have been on so many med.’s (42 a day, at the height of it all) that I have felt like I am so doped up I physically and mentally cannot function.

Now do tell, how can someone on 42 medication’s a day (none of which were due to my weight, I remind you), where many/most of them say “may cause dizziness, drowsiness, etc.” how in the world can I be able to exercise? How can I even think to eat right?
And through all of this, my Doctors (all of them) say I am basically a really healthy person (minus depression,MS, and Obesity).

I have undergone heart tests, sleep apnea testing, MRI’s, CT Scans, pulmonary testing, have had ALL of the chemicals and vitamins checked in my body, have been tested for diabetes, have had my cholesterol & thyroid checked, and blood pressure, and they ALL tell me, I am basically a healthy person, cause ALL of these tests come back clean? HOW IS THIS? Seriously?

I am all about eating right, I have a small piece of meat, the size of the middle of my palm (as the dietitians tell me is a great guideline), I love fruits and vegetables, and I try not to have but a tablespoonful(or so) of starch. I am all about doing physical activity. I love to walk, swim, dance, hike, and more.

I truly truly in my heart believe that it isn’t a choice to be fat (just like it isn’t a choice to be Black, Too Skinny, Gay, a Woman, a Man, White, Asian, a Twin, have Cancer, be born unable to reproduce or anything else under the sun).
Do you really really think I would want to be ridiculed, teased, bullied, belittled, depressed, and so on all my life? Hell No!
But alas, as much as I would love to be that size 7, 12, 16, hell even a 22! I am not, I am just me.

What I am is a married mother of 4, who cares about so many people that they will never even ever know, I am loved, I am lovable, I am fun, I love food, I love to shop, and I CARE ABOUT AND WANT TO LOOK GOOD in the skin I am in! Is this too much to ask?
(And I am sure, you don’t want me running around naked)

I am tired of wasting my life, battling this and want to start living! I have just read one of my good friends Cecily’s blog posts and she seems to be with me on this in some ways, you may want to read her blog post as well – Body Acceptance to see her point of view on being fat.

So, as I am about to embark on some changes, there will be categories I will no longer be writing about, less reviews, more stories, still writing about things I love and my family love to eat, where we like to go, what we like to do, but the main focus on this blog will still and always be about a Fashionable fun Mommy, who loves to eat, spend time with my friends and enjoys great things, because that is what being a Plus Size Mommy is all about.

Peace Throughout The New Year and Beyond!

***Beth*** AKA The Plus Size Mommy

When I received my QuackBack onesie in the mail, I was pleasantly pleased with how they are sent out. The packaging and organza bag with a cute note to the special someone I was giving the present to. You also get a coupon with it to use on your next purchase. What woman or girl wouldn’t fall in love with the adorable QuackBack ducky. I love the encouraging statement’s on the clothing as well.
Last year my now 14 year old son had his first school dance. It was an informal one so he didn’t have to wear a suit and tie, but he still most definitely wanted to look good. So I packed up the family and we headed to the mall. We looked around and most of the shops had t-shirts or outfits for say 20+ yr. old guys but nothing that really “fit his style”. While we walked around the mall basically window shopping at that point, we came across The Gap.

My son peered in and said, “Mom, this place has nice clothes, but they look too expensive”. I agreed but because it was a very important occasion for him and a huge milestone, I told my family that I would like to take him in and look around anyways. Boy, was I happy we did.

The clothes were stylish, felt durable, and were the “right fit” for my son. Most importantly, my wallet wasn’t in distress because, guess what? The clothes were reasonably priced and the SALE items were awesome. I told him to go ahead and pick an outfit. He was shocked, because he still thought it was expensive. He chose a very nice dress shirt, a pair of pant, and a sweater. As we were looking he also saw a belt he liked and also found some cologne that he said was a “must have” to smell good. So, I said yes, you definitely had to smell good (For mom’s who have boys, you understand this, I knew he was growing up because he really wanted to smell good most boys are hard to get clean, lol)

While we were in the store my now 12 yr. old son sparked interest in the clothes too. He really loved the jeans. And of course, my 2 daughters ages now 5 and 3, are mini fashionista’s and they wanted to know where their section was and wanted new clothing too. Well, this was a special occasion for my 14 yr. old so I didn’t want anyone else to get to pick anything, it would make him feel even more special. By the way, my husband was with us, and he wanted some jeans too, but I even told him, “no”, lol.

The dance went well and he danced with at least 4 girls (that I know of) so I am thinking the cologne worked and of course his handsome new clothes. He had a great night.

Now, this year is a different story. Since I know the clothes are not expensive and I can get awesome sales, I am definitely taking all of the kids to The Gap to get new school clothes. The outfit my son bought still looks brand new today, they clean so easily and ARE as durable as they felt in the store. We are very pleased with that purchase.

This year is a very important school year for all of my kids. My youngest is starting pre-school, my oldest daughter has her first day of Kindergarten, My youngest son starts middle school, and the oldest is starting High School! (and I am gonna be home alone, which I have mixed thoughts on). So, off to the Gap we will go and this time, everyone get’s clothes! (I might even allow my husband to get a couple things )

I have been looking around on Gap.com GapKids and babyGap collections to pre-shop before we hit the mall. I am in love with the new The Portobello Road Collection it is adorable.
I was recently asked to do a shop for Collective Bias for Ethnic Hair Products from Dr. Miracle’s. This opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time because my son turned 14 today and he has been wanting his hair relaxed/straightened for about 2 years now. I never knew what to use, and we went to a couple salons but no one knew how to go about doing it (or they were afraid to) because my son is biracial. His hair is very tight curls and rough textured but soft as well.
So, when I was asked to do this shop, I figured, well, it is his 14th birthday, and he will be so excited, so I will try it on him for him. So I went to Walmart and bought everything I needed. And most of it is in a nice kit with everything needed. I just had to buy some new combs for him, and I added in a durag.
After dinner, I had him come into my room and I told him what I was allowing him to do. He was so excited, and a little scared I think. I told him that if anything messes up, his dad could just shave his head down, and it would grow back. It is only hair.
So, we set everything us and followed the directions and continued the process.

It was very easy to do and I could see his hair processing as it worked.

The Following is my Whrrl story to show you the whole story. It was a fun experience and I think me and my 14 yr. old baby boy did some bonding with his mom (me) tonight as well. It is so hard to allow kids to grow up, and allow them to start making some decisions, and also to let them spread their wings and go… But at least if there is a good bond between parent and child (in this case teen) it helps it all happen a lot easier.

You can visit Dr. Miracle’s site here : http://www.drmiracles.com/
There is a great array of choices and also skin care products! And it is way less expensive then going to a professional.

You can also get some Free Samples on the site to give it a try, all you have to do is pay the shipping.

Cheers!

As a woman, I know I like to be comfortable. I like clothes that look nice, but that do not make me crazy by rising up, falling down, pinching, binding, or are itchy. Guys, I am sure feel the same way, at least I know my husband does.

My husband recently was sent a pack of Hanes Comfort Flex waistband boxers to try and he likes them. He says they do not rise up nor bind him. He says they are comfy and make him feel confident .

The Hanes Comfort Flex Waistband underwear are the latest innovation for comfort. They are designed to fit comfortably no matter the movement, this new product offers a softer, more-stretchable waistband that comfortably shifts without pinching or binding. The new feature is available on all Hanes briefs, boxers and boxer brief products.

Extensive consumer research conducted by Hanes reveals that the no. 1 concern for men regarding underwear bottoms is uncomfortable waistbands that pinch or bind. Hanes Comfort Flex Waistband was created to address these issues by maintaining a superior fit that stays in place all day.

Additionally, beginning this year, all Hanes products will carry the Comfort Guarantee seal, which reinforces the brand’s commitment to superior comfort with a money-back guarantee. Visit www.hanes.com to purchase products online or to view frequent deals and sales. Additionally, fans of the brand can check out all that is new with Hanes on Facebook at www.facebook.com/hanes.

For school shopping for my 13 yr. old this year, we are replacing all of his underwear with the new Hanes comfort flex products as well. I want to be sure he is able to concentrate and be comfortable while in class and not have to worry about his underwear.

The Plus Size Mommy

*Disclosure- I was sent a pack of the Hanes Comfort Flex Underwear for my husband to try. All opinions of the product are 100% my own, and my husband’s own. All info. about the product including the research was provided by Hanes.

Today “Plus Size Mommy” gave me a pair of Miraclebody jeans, that she had gotten at Blogher, to review. It was a pleasant surprise. I knew from the soft feel of the material that they were going to feel good against the skin but they also said that they are handcrafted to shape the body. Could they actually give this grandma a beautiful fit. YES! There are no bulky linings and I have given up on girdles. The tag says that you can look 10 lbs lighter in 10 seconds and I believe that they did just that. The only problem for me is that they are too long,so I will need to shorten them ,as I usually wear petite length ,and these jeans are mid rise which, the tag explains, the waist band falls one finger below the navel. I will have to try to get used to the feel of that.It slims the thigh, lifts the rear and controls that “pooch” that alot of us ladies have and hates. All said, this is a nice pair of jeans.
