So, we have used our Elmer’s products and my son Xavier has created his Science Fair Project. Here is a video montage of him putting together his project and also the finished project and him explaining what his project was:

I was asked to do a shop and review of Kibbles ‘N Bits Bistro dog food. Well my dog is actually doing the taste part of the review. My dogs name is Bella, and she is just like a kid when it comes to food, she is very picky. So, this is actually an experiment as well, to see if she will eat it. She never eats dog treats or any other food than the 1 she always has eaten.

The ONLY kind of snack she will eat is cheese! Needless to say, she doesn’t get a treat (of cheese) very often.

Here is a Whrrl of my shop and also we bought a large bag of food that we will be donating to an animal shelter in my area. It is called The Safe Haven, it is a no -Kill shelter.

1. I love LOVE how it has a zipper closure on the bag. Not only does it keep the food fresh for my lil Bella, but also it won’t spill all over my floor by accident.

My daughter Yasmine’s Birthday was back in Oct. and around the same time I was picked to be a host of a Fuzzoodle House Party. Fuzzoodles are so great and kids can create so many things with them. So, I decided to incorporate the Fuzzoodle making in with the Birthday party, as a pre-party craft, that kids could take home, and it would help kill time while we awaited all of the children coming to the party.

I was recently asked to do a shop for Collective Bias for Ethnic Hair Products from Dr. Miracle’s. This opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time because my son turned 14 today and he has been wanting his hair relaxed/straightened for about 2 years now. I never knew what to use, and we went to a couple salons but no one knew how to go about doing it (or they were afraid to) because my son is biracial. His hair is very tight curls and rough textured but soft as well.
So, when I was asked to do this shop, I figured, well, it is his 14th birthday, and he will be so excited, so I will try it on him for him. So I went to Walmart and bought everything I needed. And most of it is in a nice kit with everything needed. I just had to buy some new combs for him, and I added in a durag.
After dinner, I had him come into my room and I told him what I was allowing him to do. He was so excited, and a little scared I think. I told him that if anything messes up, his dad could just shave his head down, and it would grow back. It is only hair.
So, we set everything us and followed the directions and continued the process.

It was very easy to do and I could see his hair processing as it worked.

The Following is my Whrrl story to show you the whole story. It was a fun experience and I think me and my 14 yr. old baby boy did some bonding with his mom (me) tonight as well. It is so hard to allow kids to grow up, and allow them to start making some decisions, and also to let them spread their wings and go… But at least if there is a good bond between parent and child (in this case teen) it helps it all happen a lot easier.

Over the Summer (yes, I am THIS far behind on my blog posts ) I was invited to a Mom Mixer Build A Bear event here in Pittsburgh at Ross Park Mall. I had never been to Build A Bear before and my daughter who is 5 and I were very excited to go and check it out. When we first arrived I was in awe of the “brightful” and cheeriness of the store. Also, I loved the layout. Everything was perfectly planned and adjusted to entice and be a pleasant experience for children (of all ages). The staff gave A + service and it turned out to be a delightful day for everyone there. Especially the children. I was amazed at all they thought of for building a bear. Even down to the adorable heart your child chooses and places into the bear. I thought that was just so sweet. Here is a slideshow of our day and my daughter building a bear and a monkey. She built one for her lil sister who was home sick that day and couldn’t come with us.

We had so much fun. Over the holidays when it was time to see Santa, I decided to take my whole family and my mom to Ross park mall. It is farther than our mall 10 minutes away, but there isn’t a Build A Bear there. So, I took all of my kids and one of their first Christmas gifts was a new teddy Bear. Even my 13 yr. old son enjoyed himself. It again was a great day, and they had some great specials too. Also, I loved seeing all of the new animals for Christmas. They has Rudolph the reindeer and the misfit toys, and so many other great Wintery bears. It was like being there the first time all over again. It was another day enjoyed by everyone!

I was so fortunate to meet and get an autograph of Alex Guarnaschelli recently, She is the executive chef at Manhattan’s Butter Restaurant, host of Food Network’s The Cooking Loft and Alex’s Day Off and Chef-Instructor at New York City’s Institute of Culinary Education. She shared favorite dishes from her own eclectic American and green market-inspired menu.

Ms. Guarnaschelli is also very well known from the hit show “Chopped”.

She was very impressive and hilarious to say the least. She inspired me to want to learn more family recipes and also “free style” cook and just make up some new recipes of my own.

She talked to me personally about my battle with making meatloaf, and basically said that if there is a meal you do not care for yourself, you will never make it great, because it just isn’t in you to want to.

I have watched her since our meet n greet on Food Networks shows and just have fallen in love with watching her and her witty ways in the kitchen. She is just great!

I want to thank Giant Eagle Market District for inviting me to this exclusive event and the wonderful meal and gifts and also, of course, letting me meet Alex and get her autograph on a Giant Eagle Market District Apron! And I am enjoying the blueberry vinegarette as well I cannot wait for the events to come!

I recently had a 25th Wedding Anniv. party for my in-laws. It was a surprise party and boy were they surprised!
The present I decided to give to them was – The Daily Portrait of them by Milson Road.

What is The Daily Portrait? It is a framed (lovely framed) print of the newspaper of all the events of the day. For an example, My in-laws were married on June 30,1985. So this year, for their 25th Anniv. I got them a Daily Portrait with June 30, 2010 with all of this years top news stories on it.

It is simply gorgeous. I got it matted and framed in a silver frame (to represent silver for 25th wedding anniv.). It is something they can hang and look at every day and cherish. And something that my children can be given and can travel down to many more children in the future.

We decided to do an Avatar Birthday Theme birthday for my son’s 11th birthday. The following is a Whrrl of the party we had back in April. It was a lot of fun. The kids really enjoyed it.

“Babies is a Documentary Film coming out on Mother’s Day week-end (May 7th) . This film is by the same producer as “March of the Penguins” !

I watched the trailer and the babies are sooooooo adorable. It is going to be wonderful watching how 4 babies across the World go through their 1st year of life. It is true, their lives are very much different but their basic needs and development are very much the same, as you can tell just by watching this trailer. I cannot wait to go see this movie on Mother’s Day.
